Pad Selection Guidelines
{Horse Conformation and proper fitting guidelines}
We observe four (4) basic horse backs:

Type 1
Horses with a straight top-lin that have little or no withers. Normally, the saddle will rotate when mounting and will tend to shift to one side when riding. We recommend the Tacky-Tack 102W for this type problem.
Type 2
Horses with prominent withers and straight backs. Some older horses as well as young immature colts will fit into this group. Tacky-Tack pad 105 is recommended.
Type 3
Horses with high hips-higher than withers in many cases. Horses with this conformation have the appearance of sloping downhill. Tacky-Tack pad 102 RW should even out the top line relieving shoulder tension and pressure points that cause saddle sores.
Type 4
Horses with "low-back". This confirmation is commonly seen in many of the gaited breeds and results in the saddle bridging the horse's back putting pressure on the withers and kidney areas. This calls for the Tacky-Tack 102CP built up pad that fils in the back between the
withers and kidney areas; thereby, placing the weight of the rider and saddle over a 15"-16" area behind the horse's withers and
eliminating painful pressure points.
Each of these observations and recommendations needs to be verified using the the recommended six (6) PROPER SADDLE PADDING TIPS and OBSERVATION TIPS
